Brief description
Have you ever wanted to take a millinery class, but couldn’t manage it? Now there’s no need to travel: you can take one in your own home! ‘Fascinators that you can make yourself’ is a moment by moment guide to making three different fascinators from sinamay, the modern hat making material. Three milliners, Collette, Helen and Liz demonstrate the techniques – you’ll feel just as if you are there with them as they tell you exactly what to do and you see them doing it. It’s really easy to make fascinators which will wow all your friends and make you the envy of every special occasion. Put on the DVD, sit back and prepare to be ‘fascinated’!

Each section of the DVD can be viewed separately, so you can choose which lovely piece to start making. The materials are readily available and come packed in the colours used in the DVD. Also included are photos and comments about other fascinators made using the same techniques and materials, but giving delightfully different results. You can learn from these too, and could find yourself making a range of beautiful pieces in no time at all.

Colette demonstrates how to create this lovely fascinator from rolled-edge 'leaves' and how to decorate it with neatly cut feathers and a bead. A clip is attached to hold it in place and its done - simple but superb!

Wow the punters with this fantastic piece! It's simple to make but looks a million dollars. Helen guides you through the techniques, including how to attach it to a hair band.

Hat making begins here! Liz blocks the base of this fascinator on a polystyrene head, finishes it with gathered circles of sinamay and feathers and adds a comb. You'll love the result, and will soon want to learn how to block hats, too!
