Q. How do I stiffen sinamay?
A. We usually recommend a PVA solution for sitiffening sinamamy. If you can't get sinamay stiffener itself, then use a standard PVA glue which is sold as white glue, often for schools or for children to use. Dilute it with 6 measures of water to 1 of glue and mix well. Brush it on lightly when the sinamay is wet. More information about stiffeners can be found in our book Millinery Materials (pages 24 & 25)
